avc15
Here's one way to get a farm running on aridio quickly. It's important to build it with a downward exit so that CO2 gradually settles out. Compactors hold ice; the one on the left of each row has priority 7 with 10kg max; Second compactor has priority 6 with 100kg max. When the temp is good just shut off ice machines. Aluminum temp shift plates are good enough. Also make sure to restrict access to a minimum number of dupes, with at least delivery, storage, and farming roles. If everyone has access, they'll go up to the farm to idle, use up all your cool O2, and in turn cause the whole thing to use up way more cooling. And set up barriers between the hot, warm, and cool zones. It'll mostly stop the heat from leaking in but also without much run distance from ice makers to the delivery point. Nothing really new just bored and thought I'd share this one again. Zarquan
I once lost an "accept every dupe without deaths" colony from dupes hanging around the farms and depressurizing them. Ever since then, my farmers have to hold their breath, as all my farms are in CO2. This came with a few side benefits. It means that I can leave the food on the ground and the farms always maintain a constant pressure, meaning they only have to be 2 tall. That means more plants in the same space. The only downside is that the farmers are less efficient, but that is better than the plants not growing and it can also be easily fixed with atmosuits. I build a system like this in Ardio, but I used vacuum insulation instead of insulated tiles and I used ice temp shift plates instead of storage compactors.
