Were you the cause of it's death directly, cause I'm pretty sure if you kill it with fire or have a mob kill it for you or something it won't work, also you probably should post this in the bug fixer, for your system, you're playing Console edition right?

okay what achievement do you mean. are you on console or using one of those achievement mods?

on console, i do suggest making sure you deal the final blow, as opposed to a treeguard doing your dirty work. besides, achievements are worth naught in the end, and there's no achievements on the PC version.
