Concept of a programmable music box

Recommended Posts

I am not a musician and I don’t even know the notes, but I tried to make a programmable music box.

At the same time can work a few different instruments, the score is recorded by switches. Theoretically, the circuit is expandable with a multiplicity of 4, in practice, even such a circuit does not work due to logic lags when the pulse duration is less than 0.5 sec. Better to play at maximum speed.

I would be glad if ideas help someone to do something working. Sorry for google translator

Here my sound

For me it would be nice when it would be possible to choose, when automation sound should be played without overlay.

There is no melody because I am not a musician. It only taps on various "tools". The melody needs to be encoded, but I do not know how :(.
Crashes, possibly due to russian duplicant names? I can replace duplicates, but I cannot rename the colony :(

@Alexander Block

This is extremely, extremely cool, and is absolutely one of the things we hoped people would make using the new Hammer. We're overjoyed to see this!

Feature request: I'd love to see a light for each time segment that steps through and shows me which beat is currently active -- that'd help me be able to know where I am in the melody while I'm making changes!

Save with no mods:

Still crashing - no warning message - when i load your save for first time.

When i then restart ONI and press continue with your save it runs for me.
Nice compact high tech toy you built there, but i am having problems to understand, how things work, when others built them. When you want, you can explain it a bit more?

My stoneage thing is very basic, when those drum areas get bigger, not all the audio is played at once, same level - offscreen silent.
I would like when copied selections in sandbox - backspace, would keep the wiring configuration.

I will try to remake in English localization considering wishes of other people.
The idea is very simple: pulse generator send pulses to battery of binary counters and hammers. Binary counters send signals on line: 0000, 0001, 0010,0011 ... This signal controls the signal selectors that read data from "memory". Memory is massive of switches. If signal from signal generator and memory reader matsh, hammer beat on pipe.

Big music box with indication. I tried to record a melody, but you would hardly recognize it, even if you knew it.

Woot, exciting! I'll give this a look in the afternoon and see if I can recognize it :D

Most likely, the song is unknown in the world. In addition, I am not a musician and could not tune the notes :(
