UmPrataQualquer
So, I had this idea on my mind while I remembered of the L3 button being used for nothing, so I thought of making it useful somehow, and that's what came from my mind: So, we all know that PC version of Don't Starve has a cursor that can be used for a lot of stuff, one of these stuff being able to point where ever you want to soul hop/telepoof and sadly, that's not a thing on console because it got no cursor... but, this idea I had consists on having the L3 button as a way to switch between which cursor you are using, and these cursors would switch between the inventory one and the world one, I'll try to explain the world cursor considering that you already know how to use it. The World Cursor: The World Cursor(or WC) would work like just like the cursor you have on PC version. You can move it around the World to select the stuff you want to make, being able to select them from very far away and even being able to teleport(using soul hop/the lazy explorer) on the place where the cursor stands. In order to teleport or to tell your character to interact with something by pressing the shape buttons(X, ∆ and etc). If you press R2 you will still be able to go go back to the inventory cursor and re-organize your inventory, but if you go back you will still be on the WC mode, needing to press L3 again in order to change between inventory items and being able to use them. That's an idea I had because I know how much of a bother not having a cursor can be sometimes, and maybe this idea could also have being able to move via D-Pad so that you can place stuff correctly lined. If you want to suggest anything to make this better then please do so, it's always nice to have some feedback too.
Frontente
If I remember it correctly L3 is used for target locking and I really like that feature. My idea would be something like a cursor icon in the inventory bar (next to the equipment slots). When you click on that icon you could entering world cursor mode and the icon changes into a controler icon, so you're able to switch between these modes. I think geometric placement could be activated when equipping a specific new tool that has infinite durability (a triangle ruler with a pencil or something like that). Yeah, maybe some console exclusive items for console just like the triangle ruler you mentioned. If L3 is for taget locking, maybe you could press once for target locking and twice for world cursor, or even have the world cursor to mark a target yourself. luv
I like your idea OP, mostly because it is a button switch so it might be viable for wortox combat hop, although as stated before L3 is used for target lock, which is a really helpful feature. Also, not a big fan of the constant circle in front of wortox.
Naloj
we could use the touchpad (representing the entire screen) by sliding our finger to choose a destination and click to telepoof and find a key combination for the map, why not L1 + L2. But that would be ps4 exclusive (touchpad). We want to fix pc exclusive "features" without establish another exclusive Apart from that I am with you - more features for the touchpad. It would be great to swipe [up, down, left, right] to activate an emote (which can changed in the settings). That would still be a ps4 exclusive but I think it's dispensable for the others compared to telepoof or geometric placement.
luv
I am not sure if this is my imagination, but I could swear early DST had the ingame zoom in/out function with the touchpad. And I would like it back please.

There would be a timer after you press L3 once(like 1 second) and after that timer is up, if you press L3 again you would unlock target instead of entering world cursor mode. GareBear856
I like the ideas. I was very excited to play Wortox, but playing was difficult. I tend to hammer the O button on other characters so it was a hard adjustment!
BlindKitty13
Other tools could use a feature similar to this. Using Weather Pain on Ancient Fuelweaver is a pain on PS4. And I don't know if this is also relevant to this post, but I would like it if Teeth Traps would reset with X and be picked up with O. It would make it less of a hassle to go around holding X to pick up loot AND reset together instead of messing up your trap placement if you're not careful enough.
