It's more the problem that there's no way to convict somebody of griefing, which leads to innocents being kicked, griefers being revealed too late or even prevents doing a rollback to save the whole base where everyone was working on. And there's no way to reverse their griefing act if the griefers are in the majority (though having friends joining the server and helping you getting rid of the griefers, if the griefers didn't take half of the slots, could help). A list for the admins which shows what kind of structures or vegetation has been hammered/burned by which player in the last 1-3 days, which food has been eaten in the last 1-3 days (would explain why Mandrakes and Deerclops Eyeballs keep disappearing) and checking other player's inventory to see what kind of items they have in their inventory right now might help admins to detect griefers earlier and to kick them before they'll become able to perform their act.
