Chintam
Earlier today, I saw a post of someone testing how heat a gulp fish will delete. For fun, I decided to calculate the theoretical heat deletion of various critters. First a few assumptions: Critters are tamed Metabolism is 100% The temperature of the critters are the same as the input material/food Puft Converts 50kg/cycle of PO2 into 47.5kg/cycle of slime: 1.01*50 - 0.2*47.5 = 41kDTU/cycle or 68DTU/s deleted Dense puft Converts 30kg/cyle of o2 into 28.5kg/cycle of oxylite 1.005*30 - 1*28.5= 1.65 kDTU/cycle or 2.75DTU/s deleted Squeaky puft Converts 30kg/cyle of chlorine into 28.5kg/cycle of bleached stone 0.48*30 - 0.5*28.5 = 0.15 kDTU/cyle or 0.0025 DTU/s deleted Prince puft Same as above but with a 10% efficency: Polluted oxygen -> slime: 1.01*30 -0.2*3 = 29.7 kDTU/cycle or 49.5 DTU/s deleted oxygen -> oxylite: 1.005*30 - 1*0.3 = 27.15 kDTU/cycle or 45.25 DTU/s deleted chlorine -> bleached stone: 0.48*30 - 0.5*3 = 12.9 kDTU/cycle or 0.0215 DTU/s deleted Pacu/tropical pacu converts 140kg/cycle of algae into 70 kg/cycle of polluted dirt 0.2*140 - 0.83*70 = -30.1 kDTU/cycle or 50 kDTU/s gained Slickster converts 20kg/cycle of co2 into 10kg/cycle crude oil 20*0.846 - 10*1.69 = 0.02 kDTU/cycle basically nothing deleted Molten slickster converts 20kg/cycle of co2 into 10kg/cycle petroleum 20*0.846 - 10*2 = -3.08 kDTU/cycle or 50 DTU/s gained Longhaired slickster Consumed 30kg/cycle of o2. Assuming you raise the dump heat into the o2 from room temp to its maximum livable range(90c) you get 50c to work with so: 30*50*1.005 = 1507 kDTU/cycle or 2.5 kDTU/s deleted Pokeshell Converts 140kg/cyle of polluted dirt into 70kg/cyle of sand 0.83*140 - 0.83*70 = 58.1 kDTU/cycle or 96 DTU/s heat deleted Shove vole Consumes 4800kg/cyle of regolith/dirt/iron and excrete 50% as tile. Half the mass is loss when mined so results in 25% debris For regolith: 0.2*4800 - 0.2*1200 = 720 kdTU/cycle 1.2 kdTU/s deleted If you heat regolith from space to the maximum livable temperature of shove vole (500c), you get about 150c to play with assuming an average regolith temp of 350. A shove vole effectively consumes 3600kg of new regolith as 1200 regolith remains from the previous cycle so: 3600*0.2*150 = 108kdTU/cycle or 180kDTU/s. tl;dr Shove vole deletes a lot of heat for a critter. Is this useful in any way? Nope. Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/113008-heat-deletion-of-various-critters/ Share on other sites
