Add more carbon gases to slickster diet

Recommended Posts

Slicksters consume CO2 to make crude. However, CO2 isn't the only gas that has carbon in it. Let slicksters also use natural gas and sour gas as well. The upside is that it allows annoying gases to be filtered out of the air using critters. Natural filtering options are great and being able to reclaim sour gas is a great utility for low tech bases.

The downside is that natural gas is pretty valuable, so losing it to slicksters is a bummer. This doesn't seem like a very common problem as CO2 is much heavier and natgas rarely mixes into the oil biome. There may be an issue where slicksters end up chasing flatulent dupes for hilarious reasons, but that's part of the fun.

The basic idea is that players get to have a critter type to manage most, of not every type of gas.

I definitely could use a way to get rid of random bits of natural gas in my base, but I think slicksters aren't the best option for that as they tend to die at dupe-tolerable temperatures (so one chasing a flatulent dupe would be...problematic). Longhairs would be a much better fit for natural gas consumption, although still would be often out of reach compared to, say, if dreckos passively converted natural gas into hydrogen.
