Rainbowdesign
Right now a mod update can easily lead to an endless restart cycle when the Files cannot be updated because the Files are locked by the game. In the log is there: [13:43:46.040] [1] [INFO] Subscribe to mod Testing Mod [13:43:46.040] [1] [INFO] Already subscribed mod: Testing Mod [13:43:46.040] [1] [INFO] Uninstalling mod Testing Mod [13:43:46.041] [1] [INFO] Can't uninstall Testing Mod: still has loaded content: DLL [13:43:46.041] [1] [INFO] Failed. Will re-install on restart. While the game itsself just sais restart required. KittenIsAGeek
How did you get this problem to occur? I have multiple mods that I use and I haven't had that happen. What happens for me is that when there's an update to a mod, or the program, it has to refresh the mods, so it goes through a little loading thing and pops up a window that says a restart is required. Clicking OK closes the program and I have to re-start ONI. But it only happens once (or twice) and isn't a continual thing. Which mods are you subscribed to? Did you do any modification of your ONI folders in relation to mods? What happens if you unsubscribe to all your mods in the steam workshop? lilibat
I have had this problem too. Don't ask for details because I got rid of them all and did a fresh install so I could actually play. I have no idea which mods it was. Le0n1des
Delete the file mods.json in the mods folder. It did the trick in my case (had a similar issue with the "always 3 interests" mod) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/109538-please-fix-the-steam-modloader/#findComment-1234234 Share on other sites
Rainbowdesign
I have a testmod to test if my mods work. It caused it a load of times now... I think especially when the mod crashes the game for some reason. Nightinggale
I had a problem with endless mod reloading after High Flow Storage and Sensory Overload had a conflict. They have a few shared files and it turns out that two classes can't be called the same even if they are listed as internal if they save data. I fixed the conflict, but then many people reporting that the error wouldn't go away. They had to delete mods.json and then enable all the mods again in order to get the game to work again. This is still not fixed, or at least listed as not fixed.
