In exchange maybe make the conversion rate less crappy than 2:1 or buff the production process in some other way? It'll give a convincing heat problem to deal with but it's also gives a means of superheating stuff mid-game.

For the record, yes I know this can be frustrating to deal with especially for new players but at least that's the temperature oil refines at, like how water is supposed to electrolyze at 70C at least according to this game.

On the other hand since this could severely gatekeep plastic production It might be nice to make Dreckos more rewarding to farm as well. As things are it feels like I have to decide right from the beginning if I want to produce plastic with Dreckos but the answer is always no because it seems flat out more efficient to produce plastic industrially.

If you have some crude oil on the floor and you heat it up to 400 C, then you will convert it into petroleum at 1:1. It's a concept called a "petroleum boiler".

I'm not complaining that you can't boil it manually. I'm talking about the building called "oil refinery".

If the oil started at 100C, adding an extra 300C to the petroleum output equates to 2640kDTUs. Like. Damn. Stay away from huge fixed temperature outputs, yo.

It would simplify an overpowered but good idea of a petro boiler. not good idea at all " in my eyes".
