About this mod:
This mod, boiled down to its core, is a modified set of world gen scripts.

-SPAAAACEEE!!!
-moved some things around due to space being introduced
-moved the mod posting from general discussion to here 
-updated the tags in the world gen files to make things spawn related to modern ONI
-fixed a bug that caused game to crash in the main menu

Note on using my scripts in your own projects:
Just give credit if you make heavy use of my scripts, other then that...go nuts. No permission or other legal technicalities needed. Just go nuts. 

Future plans:
I'm on winter vacation, yay Southern Hemisphere, so I'll probably push out a few more updates depending on feedback I get from this thread. I'm not as good at the game itself as I once was anymore, but I maintain some of my general knowledge surrounding the game scripts when it comes to worldgen (Not a lot changed in regards to how the scripts under the hood generally work). 

Installation guide

Go to steam 
>Right click Oxygen not included
>Select Properties 
>Select the "Local files tab"
>Select browse local files
>open "OxygenNotIncluded_Data"
>Make a backup the file "StreamingAssets"
>Copy the contents of the BF1.6 folder into your "OxygenNotIncluded_Data" file
>Launch the game, select "custom" and look for the options that start with "Big Freeze" under the worlds setting.

(Other)
>Navigate to the place you installed the game (Where the game's exe is located)
>open "OxygenNotIncluded_Data"
>Make a backup the file "StreamingAssets"
>Copy the contents of the BF1.6 folder into your "OxygenNotIncluded_Data" file
>Launch the game, select "custom" and look for the options that start with "Big Freeze" under the worlds setting.

I have fond memories of playing this map back in the day. 

I was just now thinking about your chlorine bombs.  They'd go great in a cold-themed counterpart to Volcanea.  Liquid Cl everywhere, heck, little pockets of liquid H2, that make it worth mining for but you need to be really careful not to warm the map up too much or else everything explodes.

I am thinking of adding pockets of gas in the hotter sections of the map. Thou H2 sadly has to be near absolute zero to maintain a liquid or solid form.

So here is my todo list
-Update scripts to include stuff for modern Oxygen not included
-Clean up the mess that is the current set of templates for this mod
-Move some stuff around

Mind you not in that order. These changes so far are rather minor I admit. Most of the work for 1.6 will likely be cleaning and updating several of the scripts to make the game spawn items related to modern ONI...
 

I will play test 1.6 so don't expect it to be released for a little while. I am also still taking requests and ideas.

edit: Also, as Lurve requested, I added some rare small pockets of hyper compressed hydrogen into the frozen chlorine sub world.
