In the desert biome, which is a rocky-sandy area, lies Antlion - whom summons sand structures and causes sandstorms. Perhaps a good minor addition would be making Sand Piles show up like in Shipwrecked, possibly only during or after a sandstorm by Antlion, or even better spawned after appeasing her, possibly even just a natural semi-rare resource pile that occurs in the desert. Sand could also possibly come out of tumbleweeds. And there could be many newly implemented uses for the collected sand:
     * Building Glass Structures without having to painstakingly fight and slaughter Antlion. Maybe Antlion gives the blueprints when appeased?
     * Making new glass sculptures. Some may find the aesthetic of regular glass more appealing, like Willow.
     * Creating glass-based weaponry, though not on the power scale of moon glass.
     * Investigative Glass, perhaps to inspect bundle wraps. It could just do that and be absolutely amazing.
     * Glass Canon. Just, the pun is right there to be taken. To be nurtured into being.
     * Could also have Obsidian fully implemented. Maybe it requires lava pools or another difficult task. Or Obsidian could be a separate thing.
     * Sand Bags. There might not be floods but there could be a niche for building sandbag walls anyways.
     * Sandy Turf. Perfect for growing coconuts, maybe even little crabbit dens. Or just for the beachy look.

If anyone has any additional ideas regarding putting sand and sand-related things in DST, please comment below.

I love the idea of the investigative glass. I was just on a server where we had wished you could see into a bundle without opening it. Glass canon is funny, though if added, maybe give it a chance to backfire? There's a lot of weapons in the game as is. As nice as an obsidian weapon would be, it would make already nearly unused weapons even more useless.(poor bat bat, the only weapon I have an amazing skin for) I haven't been keeping up with the beta, but if flooding is added, sand bags and items like it would be nice. And more varied food and creatures is always nice.

Investigative Glass is one of my most fervent hopes among this post. Bundles are so useful but they just plop everything down when opened.
Glass Canon backfiring would be a comedy of errors. An absolute sheetfest. Only Willow mains or fully upgraded WXs might survive that.
I was thinking more on Obsidian Sculptures, walls, and the cool fire pit than any weapons. I'd be fine with no obsidian weapons.
Considering the Moon alters tides, there may very well be lunar flooding added.
Definitely more creatures and food. Especially from the side-games. Such beautiful visuals.
