ONI plants vs zombies (germ test)

I was wondering what would happen if i placed a sporechid next to a buddy bud. Does the floral scent win or do the zombie spores take over the air. So i ran a test:

Test chamber. The wheezewort is to keep the buddy bud below 40^oC.

Not as exciting as expcted. No side seems to have the upper hand. While the sporechid produces almost 10 times more spores than buddy bud does floral germs they don`t push each other away. The 1 germ per tile rule keeps the spores contained but doesn`t remove them.

I should also note that the sporechid will not produce any spores as long as there`s floral scents over the plant itself, so if the buddy bud was planted first. I would assume the same is true for the buddy bud but i haven`t tested that.

Yeah, I've noticed the same with sporelung.  If the polluted oxygen is already above a certain threshold of slimelung, the buddy-bud won't help because of the spontaneous resurgence of sporelung every tick.  However, if its below a certain point, then "floral scent" starts to slowly take over.

This is different from the behavior in clean oxygen.  There, buddy-bud works great at cleaning out sporelung because the germs don't multiply in clean oxygen.

Ok so i let the test chamber run unattended for a while (not too long since i wasn`t playing altogether that much in anticipation for the release). And a few interesting things happened.

As you can see the floral scents are starting to get the upper hand. The zombie spores dissappeared completely and a small amount of floral scents occupies the sporechid plant. No zombie spores are produced but the floral scents don`t move forward. The rightmost tiles are fully germfree.

When i though it wass all decided then ther was a turn.

The zombie spored suddenly started fighting back and took over the entire chamber. I didn`t check it out each cycle so i missed when it happened. Anyway it turned out to be way more exciting the i anticipated.

Eventually the wheezewort couldn`t keep up with the heat and the buddy bud wilted and gave up.

There seems to be more going on in the germ battle than we can see from the looks of it. Zombie spores don`t die in CO2 but somehow they got cleared. Floral scents should take over the room but something was stopping them.
