Most efficient food source?

With an ice maker 3000 and a palm tree farm one could survive on possibly the most efficient food conversions in the game via a crock pot.  By using a machete to chop a coconut, one gets 2 coconut halves. One half coconut + 3 ice will make a Fistful of Jam. 2 Fistfuls must be eaten per day. Therefore, 4 logs (converted into ice) and one coconut are all that is required per day.

wouldn't a better, more efficient effect be generally achieved by substituting the coconut with a Monster Meat or a morsel?

Well this method isn't hampered by time of day, incoming giants/crocodogs etc.. You can always chop a palm tree and put its wood into an ice machine. Monster meat is more dangerous and less reliable.

 

Obviously someone with a lot of skill could get much more food from more dangerous sources, this is just a hypothetical.

true, but i always base down near a Spider den... though i guess i could be considered far too inefficient by using Berries as filler for meatballs instead of ice xD
