Hey guys I am new to the forum and I just had some mob ideas for Don't Starve floating around in my cranium, so I thought I share them. Here they are.

Midnight Man: The Midnight Man is an actual myth. The reason I am suggesting him as a mob is, I think he would fit in the Don't Starve universe. Like the Krampus he is an actual myth or legend. The Midnight Man would not spawn naturally he would have to be summoned. The summoning would be a bit difficult to do. The player would need a "Midnight Light". The Midnight Light would be a new item in the game that would look exactly like the Night Light, but instead of having a red gem it would have a black gem. Now the black gem would be a new item as well. The black gem would look exactly like the red gem but black. The only way to get the black gem is if a Shadow Watcher drops one. This drop would be rare and it would only occur once per world. Once the player crafts the Midnight Light, they can set it down on the ground like a regular Night Light, but the Midnight Light never dies out and cannot be put out or picked up. When The Midnight Light is set down The Midnight Man now has a chance of spawning in the players world. The Midnight Man is a neutral mob and will attack enemies and the player. When The Midnight Man is near, the player will begin to hear whispering. The Midnight Man will sometimes destroy the players campfires or any other sources of light, except the Midnight Light. The Midnight Man cannot be killed, but can be banished away for an interval of time. The Midnight Man has 250 health and does 40 damage. His walking speed is 3 and his running speed is 5. His attack period is 1 and range is 4, The Midnight mans appearance is like a Hallucination, but is a solid black silhouette. He resembles a Shadow Watcher, but doesn't have the tentacles on his head. Oh yeah he doesn't drop anything. He would only come at night. Hence his name.

Bunnyman: Man in a bunny outfit that comes for the player with an axe if he kills to many bunnies. Kinda like The Krampus but only for bunnies. Still thinking of what else he would do.

Piscis: A creature that will crawl out of sea during the evening and return to the sea in the morning. When the creature is on land, if it is in a near by radius of the player, it will try to kill the player. This creature will also attack small animals such as birds or rabbits. Still thinking of what else it would do.

Walter: A new character,Wears glasses, is bald, has a goatee. Says "I am the Danger" Can "Cook" some "Alchemy" items. this is a joke idea. Good job If you got the reference. :applause:

Well those are my ideas. Feel free to express your opinion positive or negative. Also feel free to critique them as well.

Thanks.

I like overall idea, I think he should not put out the fire though. Instead it could be a shadow version of the character you are being. That shadow character will have a chance to drop a unique shadow item. I would say a shadow sword but there is already one in the game that you can craft.

Nope, just a huge Lovecraft fan ^_^

Actually, Cthulhu was suggested before.

I'm not suggesting Cthulu, but a creature like him. Like some sort of creature that crawls out of the sea onto land.

Hmmmm I like that idea, I might change the whole Midnight Man idea to that. But with more to it. Nice idea man! Edited by Toaster Fu

Maybe when you kill the shadow man thingy, he is removed permanently, and the midnight light gets some buff?

Maybe, but I like the idea that you can't make him go away. Like if you summon him there's no going back unless you make a new world.
