Sasza22
For now with early critter management i often end up sweeping eggs i don`t want in the stable (unwanted morphs and overpopulation) to a storage compactor and forgetting about them. This means i very rarely make use of the egg cracker. The main issue is that if i order to crack an egg the dupes will pick a random egg of that kind to crack, not always the one i want to dipose. If i could flag an egg for cracking like i flag food for composting it would save me some work and give me cracked eggs right away instead of waiting 10 cycles in a compactor. I currently see the egg cracker as good for indiscriminate purges, great if you have only a few stables. I would like to see it be more versatile. But in a larger way than you are proposing here. I would like the egg cracker to be bindable to a room, so that all eggs that are in the room of the types selected will be cracked. This would allow us to do what you want, but with sweep commands. They take the eggs to the egg cracking room and then they crack the eggs without waiting. Or you could automate it and send eggs to the egg cracking room with conveyors. Though when you get to that point, some would say there is no real difference between the compactor and the egg cracker. Reiyuka
What seems to be working for me, is to keep an incubator marked with "continuous" at a high priority, and the egg-cracker at a lower priority. Then, I use the critter sensor with a NOT gate, and it'll activate if the number of adults in the room drops below threshold. So it'll boost egg production until the population hits threshold, otherwise crack the eggs. dekeonus
IMHO the egg cracker isn't usable as it is currently:- dupes grabbing random eggs from around the map (esp from stables) means that it doesn't get used. By the time you have an incubator you usually have enough egg production to just sweep to storage and let the egg crack in storage. The egg cracker needs a "Sweep only' toggle or 'From storage only' toggle so that dupes grab eggs from the player intended locations. adding my vote for extended omelette recipes.
