DaniBlue
Title says it, got Ration boxes in cold environment, box temperature are below temperature necessary for refrigeration but still saying unrefrigerated. Anyone else getting that?
Risu
Box temperature doesn't matter. Only air temperature.

DavidGrim
It's easier if you keep your ration box in carbon dioxide.
Kasuha
Probably best method is keeping them in vacuum. Two unpowered fridges (keep more food than one box), accessible through corners. Some may consider it exploit but for now it works. To make the vacuum, build solid tiles, then deconstruct the inside and build the fridges through corners. Here's my plants/dining area with the food storage:
Lifegrow
Hydrogen is also a very easy way to sterilize your food area - I've taken to letting a pocket build near the top of my bases and planting my crops there
dwarftopia
You can put your food boxes in a sterile environment such that food doesn't decay. That way, temperature doesn't matter anymore. An easy way to do that is to put the boxes in a spot where carbon dioxide tents to accumulate since a CO2 filled environment is sterile.

Or if you don't plan on harvesting your crops, just plant them in hydrogen/CO2 and forget the ration boxes/fridges all together Food will just lie on the floor perfectly preserved
