RalphKastro
Heres a challenge for you "veterans" to actually starve! Raise 10 - 20 smallbirds and not let a single one die until they become tallbirds. Then tell me how'd you survive. XD Bird hat+Pig Army FTW.I liked the point that was raised earlier by someone(too lazy to check who it was. But you know who you are.) that if you made it harder to get food, novices would have a lot of trouble, and if food was made more common, then veterans would riot because it's not hardcore enough. Instead, I believe as well that we should focus on ways to reduce the easiness of the player along time. Instead of making it so that food is too easy to come by, make it so that food becomes scarcer the longer the game goes on. Flash fires have some effect over it but it's too slow. I haven't played much, and correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Bearger invade your bases and steal your food in Autumn?I think more situations like these, where unreplaceable resources in the world are destroyed, forcing you to either defend those precious resources(and probably die) or be amongst the survivors of the catastrophe and try to keep yourself and the community living just a little longer, until the world gets so ruined that you either all die or kill each other(because I love Anarchy+Despair leading to disaster.).So, yeah. I think the answer would be more World Ruining features.(I don't really like the entire idea of disasters, though. They feel a bit off from the theme, as well as being completely out of the control of the player, creating a "why am I so friggin' unlucky" feel, instead of a "I could have prepared.... I could have done something...." feel. Feel free to change my mind, though.)
