You can see other pre-built character items.

This is interesting... I think you have those items because you had crafted them but not placed them. I had no character specific items already crafted and I was not able to see any items from other characters... but this would allow you to have godlike powers! Craft every character item, switch to Willow, place them all  and then light them on fire. 

This is fixed in the next update, 2.41
