Yes, an existing world made before the settings update. 

Can you copy your save file to a USB stick and attach it to this issue? 

I've been testing with new worlds and the settings seem to work.

This is the same with spiders in the caves, turn cave spiders and dangling depth dwellers to none and they still spawn but spitters and warrior spiders don't spawn
