A glitch of unknown origin is cause the germ count in the shown pool to multiply to an amount that is difficult to deal with. The terrain keeps rapidly freezing small amounts of water and melting it which could somehow be related to the rapid growth.

The save file is provided below

Acidic Dwelling.sav

Steps to Reproduce

Have a pool of germy polluted water mixed with clean water partially melt through an ice biome

User Feedback

I'm think that's just polluted water just being polluted water. Once germs hit a certain count, they spread to nearby gasses or solids, depending on the germ type.

I think that thing with freezing and melting stuff leading to a huge germ increase also happens with liquid CO2 and zombie spores. Which easily happens with a frozen core.

I had similar issue long time ago (in vanilla), when I was playing with sandbox mode while I was trying to cool down some water - I put a piece of something really cold, and water was gone totally crazy with freezing and melting. Since it was polluted with tiny amount of germs, it turned to billions.
