Hatches behave strangely if wrangled when burrowing

If a Hatch gets wrangled when burrowing, it exhibits a number of weird behaviours:

  1. No errand exists for a Critter drop off.
  2. It seems to glitch down and right (moving ~1 step per frame?) to find somewhere to actually exist, seemingly at random. Even if its current spot would be OK.
  3. Digging the tile it's burrowed in results in another glitchy move rather than a trussed hatch on the floor.

I once managed to build a tile under where one was hiding and get it to exist in the real world long enough for a delivery, but it seems to have been delivered in a still-trussed state, or somehow ended up burrowed into a tile anyway.

Steps to Reproduce
  1. Start new game on Terra cluster.
  2. Wait for Hatch to burrow.
  3. Wrangle it.

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

My favorite so far is this one :D (a hatch managed to teleport so far to the right -not dug yet- space, that is not even visible anymore..)

hatch somewhere.sav

Sometimes they fall properly at night (unburrow and wrangled). If they burrow-unburrow and stack in an infinite loop you can just save at that point and reload. They will fall wrangled then (usually..)

I think it is also a base game bug so.. maybe something changed last base game's update..?

If hatches are stack in a loop it is easily resolved (save-reload) but when they start teleporting to the right it gets a bit annoying.. :-?

This looks very similar to the glitch in the base game, although I have not heard or seen the moving while in wrangled state.

the first mention in the base game bug tracker I could find is this one.

There is also at least one other mention in the DLC bug tracker.

Thought I'd add my experience with this whole silliness here. These are recently wrangled hatches that where not burrowed. But now, they just don't know what to do!
