Cosmic Archaelogy Terrestrial Artifacts bug

When did you start the playthrough you have been hunting achievements on? It was bugged, terrestrial artifacts used to reset on reload if they did not get immediately analyzed and counted as space artifacts. This was fixed in the latest live update

• Fixed issue causing Terrestrial Artifacts to lose the Cosmic Archaeology achievement’s tag on load.

I know the pain, I have 26/10 space artifacts, 0/10 terrestrial artifacts in my current game.

It seems my colony was created on 1.11. 2021, but it might have been a day before. Any way to know when the bug fix came live?

 

EDIT: I strongly believe I waited for the Rad new worlds update before creating the colony, but it still manifests.

The patch came out on Oct. 28 (same day as patch note).

Alright, then it would seem my colony was already created on new patch, yet all my artifacts except for one (the one present on the starting Planetoid) we marked as Space and not Terrestrial.

My other theory is that you only get +1 to either when you analyze that same artifact first time, meaning that you can possibly bring in the very same looking artifacts from SPACE missions already, blocking you from getting +1 to Terrestrials once you find them deep in lava or wherever (~ you need rockets to get there, so naturally you scour the space first, before you are able to handle harsh worlds)

From the same pool of thoughts, I got two exactly same artifacts from one POI, leading to similar result.

It would be better, I think, if the terrestrial artifacts were unique pool and could not be already generated as space ones

Or does anyone else have an insight?

I started a new game after the Rad New World Update (2021-10-28) and still have this issue.

I have only 1 / 10 Terrestrial Artifacts, and 20 / 10 Space Artifacts. The one Terrestrial Artifacts is from Sink in the starting asteroid.

I collected many space artifacts using Artifact Transport Module around the starting asteroid, then started exploring other planet. And then all of the Terrestrial Artifacts on the pedestal were Mug Cups.

As Aldorus guessed, I think if an artifact is collected from space mission already, it blocks collecting the same Terrestrial Artifacts and blocks the achievement.

I restarted the game with a same seed, and tried to correct terrestrial artifacts before getting any space artifacts from POI with artifact transport module.

This time I was able to collect 5 / 10 Terrestrial Artifacts, but still unable to collect 10 unique ones due to high duplication rate of Office Mug artifact. Space artifacts prevent getting Terrestrial artifacts, and even without that, it is not possible to collect 10.

Same issue as this.

Cosmic Archaeology achievement is not obtainable as of Buff and Shine update (2021-11-18). I gave up and used a support of Mods which gives terrestrial artifacts from printing pod.

This is still being adressed by the devs. On the current testing branch:

Worldgen: 

• Reserved 10 artifacts as Terrestrial only to ensure the Cosmic Archaeology achievement can be completed.
