Any critter that can eat plant growth can get stuck constantly eating a 0% growth plant. This will cause it to never grow back, and the critter will go hungry. Critter will not switch to a different plant even if there is one with a higher % growth. Applies to both wild and domesticated critters and plants.

Spacejunk.sav

Steps to Reproduce

1. Build a room with edible plants in it

2. Put an appropriate hungry critter inside

3. Wait for the bug to occur

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Same issue here with the beta build, here's the save file for further investigation. Sno-Day Home.sav

They'll be stuck trying to eat the same plume squash as it grows, ultimately not gaining any calories, and poach any growth it gains; if another plant with more growth is available, they will move to it though. This might also happen when you feed them the nosh bean plants but I've yet to experiment with that.

Got the same issue on U53-640445-SC. Bammoths will keep eating the same Plume Squash on 0%, barely gain any calories, ang go back to starving. This is even though multiple more mature plants are nearby. Reloading the game does not solve this. This is with domesticated plants in a ranching setup.

Got the same issue as well. From trying somethings, I kinda found a workaround to avoid it maybe. I tried with floxes, so basically I build their ranch and start growing the pikeapples inside. Then i let the wild floxes in the ranch 1 at a time, when plants reach 85% or more. Then they will eat plants until they are full and go back to being idle/roaming, when they are hungry they will eat the plant and not get bugged out so long as the plant doesnt go back down to 0% growth or when they are full.

Interestingly tho they will still eat the plant when its at 1 or 2% growth but then they will only get 10cals from it LOL
