Smart Battery does not activate NOR gate in automation

I am trying to make a smart shutoff circuit where some of the branches (wires) are turned off if the battery is empty (becomes active).

I know the battery is not a sensor, but it really should work with the automation gates.

My setup: a bunch of smart batteries connected to a NOR gate which is connected to the devices I want turned off

Active signal always overrides inactive state. If anything in the wire sends an active signal, the line will be active, no matter what other sensors say.
