Shine bugs not producing light

As far as I'm aware it is on purpose - all glum shine bugs wont produce light. Also Abyss bugs wont produce light.

This is not a bug, the shinebug you have selected is glum from overcrowding so it won't emit light.  This feature was added in RU

Oh those bastards.  So you can't use shine bugs to power solar panels anymore eh?

So what is the use of shine bugs then?  The only reason I decided to start breeding them is because I have a ton of phosphorite and nothing else to use it on, and need more lime.  Doesn't seem like a very good reason for them to exist.

but it's still possible to go past this by having an open room with lure but you'll overwork your rancher keeping them all happy with grooming as ungroomed tamed shines will also be glum
