Regolith spawning on the other side of vertical walls

Thats the same like passing one row of horizontal tiles. They wont protect 100%. 2 rows are required. (or 1 row of bunker-doors)

Horizontal tiles protect from regolith spawning beneath them. Seems more like regolith spawns 2 tiles left and right of the tile the meteor hits.
