Lost Printerceptor code

direct91
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Fixed

The clogged toilet can get into a state where it was analyzed but didn't give codes for the printerceptor.  This prevents progress in the story and doesn't allow limiting the printerceptor's number of databanks it is allowed, rendering the whole story a dead end.  The only "workaround" is to reload a save where the printerceptor can be enabled before unclogging, as re-enabling the printerceptor "resets" the toilet where the lid is flapping and can progress the story when unclogged.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Discover printerceptor and toilet, and activate printerceptor

2. Set the toilet to be unclogged, but don't have any dupes able to do the task

3. Disable printerceptor (I was trying to prevent it from eating all of my databanks)

4. Save and reload.  Observe Toilet is no longer flapping

5. Allow dupes access to unclog the toilet.

6. Observe the toilet is no longer flushable, but there was no story progress in the top left given, and the printerceptor is still locked

7. Reload the save from step 4

8. Enable the printerceptor, and then everything works as intended (Unless step 4-5 are followed again)

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

I can confirm.  I have just encountered the same bug. See attached. Toilet unclogged, quest not finished, because the toilet was unclogged while the Printerceptor was disabled.

I don't understand how the printerceptor bug is considered fixed. I have NEVER had a save where the unclog option was even allowed (pre or post activating the printerceptor story). I even tried loading an earlier save and revealing the clogged toilet again. Nothing.

EDIT: I had a random thought that I would like confirmed if possible. Could this story trait be "bugged" by disabling supply drops? If so, maybe a warning or prevention of this would be necessary so that a player doesn't generate a disabled story trait.

If you have a save file where printerceptor doesn't work, you could make a new bug report and upload that save or upload that save here
