points 2 & 3 will have a simple enough solution as its almost certainly user error (no offense) but without more info we can't really help you

I could be mean, and say, you are an apple-user, deal with it. But that would not be fair. The game was released with Mac-Support, but it has way to much problems with Mac and Linux as well. Its a sad fact, the game does not run well on any other platform than windows.
