Duplicants stressed when in negative decor, even when it's above their expectation

Duplicants get the "Drab Decor" effect while in negative decor, even when it's above their expectation. Stress rises because of that. When in positive decor, however, they do not get stressed.

Steps to Reproduce
Have a dupe with negative decor expectation, put him in a negative decor environment that's higher than their expecation.

User Feedback

It says 0% change per second, track his stress from the vitals tab, it could be just another thing

Duplicants becoming stressed while in negative decor is intended game design. The -35 expectation is a default/baseline value that will be offset as the duplicants level.

Once the expectation adjustments become greater than 35, then duplicants could be exposed to positive decor that is less than their total expectation - this results in no impact to stress.

Essentially this means that as long as you have positive decor early game, you will get a buff.

But this was cycle 6, they haven't had any decor requirements yet... If they expect -35 (and their expectation changes in the toolbar), then they must be happy in -35 or greater, not only positive.

I think he Wants to say that -35 is kinda a buffer before they start expecting something. Nevertheless they feel bad in ugly environment even without any expectations.

So - 35 is not a value how less decor they want, just a messure until they start expectibg something more than normal (0) ;)

So what is -35 then, huh? It's literally how much decor a dupe expects, and it rises when they get better qualified jobs. Then why do they panic at the decor they expect?

that is how the game is programmed!

-35 is just a value for how much level a dupe can raise before really starting to expect things.
until then -35 is treated like -5. it gives u just 1-2 joblevel buffer before he gets mad that u dont raise decor above "normal".
and yeah, he gets mad anyhow when u dont compensate for ugly things long before that.

dont ask for logic, its the gameplay the devs decided for. - But that aint a bug then.

I see four  tiny batteries and wire, so decor is about -50 in this place.

If outside decor lower than expectation than inner dupe feeling of decor decrease. Number on dupe character sheet is not decor of this place -- it is his inner sense of how good/bad his decor. This number not changes instantly. It changes slowly. It raises, if decor better than expected, and and decrease if decor worse than expectation  So, if dupe spend most time in well decorated place and after that quickly walks through some horrible place -- his decor feeling will not stress him.

To see real decor value of this place select Decor Overview (it is pot flower icon in top-right corner of screen) and move cursor over dupe position. I think you see numbers well below -35

Developers, possibly it will be good to name it differently in character sheet, to reduce confusion. Possibly "Decor feeling" or "Beauty sense",
