Dupes give up on life

LeFudge
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Pending

Saw a similar post, dupes just decide to stop moving and will starve to death. You can command them to move somewhere but they'll just run over there and stop, and then continue waiting for death. Often happens overnight, resets when you reload the game but it seems to be getting worse and happening every cycle now.

what the fug.sav

Steps to Reproduce
9 dupes, 350+ cycles, nothing too crazy going on

User Feedback

So I think the problem is not enough ram, because your gpu (graphics card) is pulling half of it away for itself as shared memory, I believe you could resolve your problem but upgrading your ram.  Its what I see as the most likely cause of your experience based on your systems setup.

I doubt it. I've had bigger colonies with more dupes and equipment running and they worked fine. It only affected this one save so far, haven't actually played to test it more since this bug wrecked my save.

I got the same problem at cycle 50 and having about 20 dupes. Nothing to do with ram available. Still got more then 50GB RAM unused while playing. Even turned of paging but to no avail. So I wonder why this happens, it’s something that started I think previous update? Though the game ran faster and more stable dupes started to get stuck in any kind of animation. I could tolerate the slow down but now I’m just checking every other week if it’s still present.

playing for more than 50~ cycles without saving/reloading seems to cause this. without fail, every time it starts happening, a reload fixes it.

also switching to x2 speed for a bit upon reload. Oh and mine uses up to it seems 2.5~GB RAM at most..?
