disabled/un-powered incubators still work

Neotuck
  • Branch: Preview Branch Version: Windows Known Issue

If an incubator is disabled by automation is still functions as if it isn't disabled at all

eggs within still incubate

sweepers/dupes will still load a disabled incubator when empty

even cutting power still won't stop this, the incubators work without power!

Steps to Reproduce
disable an incubator or cut power to an incubator

User Feedback

Please don't remove the ability to place eggs in un-powered incubators, this is useful for some builds. They incubate at the same rate as if they were on the ground, and your rancher can't serenade them, so the benefit is minimal. Just another way to automate ranches now that there's a continuous setting.

Maybe some other things could change to make things more intuitive, like, maybe dupes and sweepers shouldn't be willing to load it when it's disabled via automation.

Changed Status to Known Issue

Hi @Neotuck,

The incubation continuing is working as intended. As @avc15 mentions, eggs in unpowered incubators continue to incubate but only at the rate they would sitting on the ground, and the serenade benefit cannot be applied.

We'll take a look at whether they should still accept deliveries when disabled though, I can understand the confusion there.
