Access restrictions not working on horizontal doors

Tragar
  • Branch: Preview Branch Version: Windows Fixed

Development Build q3-327401

When a door is placed horizontally with ladders above and below, duplicates ignore any access restrictions configured on that door. It does not matter if you give custom access or default, they continue to use the door in the direction they should not be able to. Revoking up and down permissions still does not prevent them from using the door. Only completely locking the door works.

This has worked in past builds, but that was several months ago.

Steps to Reproduce
Build a door horizontally with ladders above and below, then restrict access permissions. Leave the door set to Auto.

User Feedback

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

It's because duplicant can still "climb" on a vertical door from below. And so, once on the door, they're not walking from any side.

So ... :(

It's the same for a vertical door placed above a ladder.

As @Tragar said. Removing the 2 arrows don't change anything, because the duplicants still climb from below the door. ;)

Changed Status to Known Issue

Hi @Tragar

Thanks for the bug report.

It looks like you can work around this bug for now by making sure your ladders or firepoles are built right up to the bottom of the door:
