A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

this happens also on land (he keeps pushing the player in a direction). Furthermore, Chester makes smaller jumps than usual, and whenever he makes one of those jumps the sound from the player dropping an object on the ground is emitted (but Chester doesn't let any item drop).
