Get a beefalo. Use a bell on it. Hitch it to the judging thing. Put the bell away (in a chest or the floor or whatever).

Do this for 3 more beefalos.

Start the beauty pagent.

Once the judging starts, game crashes.

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

I did all the above but in my case the message popped "you lost connection to server" when it was my turn to vote and I tried to do so

Fixed here doesn't mean live yet. Just that the fix will come in the next update.

Also, you will need to hold one of the bells for the contest. Just to let you know.
