shove voles.

Recommended Posts

I can't really see shove voles being anything close to fixing the ridiculous regolith problem.

I placed 3 in a metal tile room, so they couldn't escape, with some regolith in there.  I saw very little regolith munching, they scoffed some, but then crapped it out again.  I can't see that this is going to fix the OTT spawn rate of regolith, it's just not too too too little.

It took 3 cycles for them to eat 1840 regolith and crapped out 1380.  considering that we have well over 20t dumped on the asteroid every few cycles, Honestly, shove voles remind me of pissing in the ocean.

Did they poop those 1380 regolith out as solid tiles? Because if you mine a solid tile the mass will be reduced by 50%.

I don`t know if anyone noticed but regolith no longer forms huge towers but rather each meteor adds to the regolith tiles it hits. This means the voles are useful as a tile builder that helps maintatin the regolith layer and protect the surface. It also means that each time a meteor forms regolith tiles digging them out reduces the overall amount of regolith. Lets spend some time playing and see how much regolith do we get over time compared to the old patch.
