Is there any way to build something right at the center of the turf?

I remember seeing somebody do it(maybe at twitch), but can't remember how. Possibly has something to do with Geometric Placement mod..

That is indeed a Geometric placement mod functionality.

For placing something that way you put a pitchform in your hand, mouse over the center of the tile where the cross is, and use the <capslock> key to open the controller crafting menu and navigate to your chosen structure using <wasd> and place it that way perfectly centered on your tile.

I strongly suggest that you use The Geometric Placement mod. It is widely available across The steam workshop if You are playing on PC, but I'm unsure if mods are available for console.
