Having trouble with jobs/priorities

Hi guys, wasn't sure where to put this thread so sorry if it's in the wrong place. I only just started  using the game again since this update and I'm a bit confused

I assigned a dupe as a research assistant and even though it's their only priority and I disabled all their other priorities, they won't research. They are literally idle..no other dupes will research either. Yes I have a research selected and there are no missing resources. What am I doing wrong?

Can you post a screenshot. Maybe there`s a pathing bug or something.

Some things to check:

1. Make sure that you have dirt (research station) and water (supercomputer). If you can't supply these to the building, they won't research.
2. Access to research. Seems obvious, but make sure that they can actually reach the research, make sure there aren't any doors with no access settings.
3. Check sub-priorities, b/c if the research station is set to sub-priority of 1, they will ignore it for a long while.
4. Power to the research stations.
5. Research task selection. If you don't tell them what to research, they won't research. Seems obvious, but it's just another thing to check.
6. Automation disabled, you might have accidentally disabled it with a wire you didn't mean to run through them.
