The Flying Fox Posted October 7, 2018 Share Posted October 7, 2018 I'd imagine this idea might not be too popular, but I think it would make for a more interesting mechanic and challenge when handling Super Coolant while also giving more things to do with it. So, the idea is to have it off-gas just like polluted water into polluted oxygen when the pressure above exposed tiles of super coolant is too low. Basically under 1800 grams. Then, make it so that super coolant gas can not condense back into liquid. It can only freeze into a solid and then melt back into a liquid, or only have it condense back into a liquid at an extremely low temperature. And honestly, at the stage of the game where we get the ability to make super coolant, storing it properly in a high enough atmospheric pressure shouldn't be a problem. The super coolant gas could be labeled as toxic (With some system down the road actually making that important) because, after all, it's some kind of amalgam of mercury vapor and other substances. So yeah, totally nasty stuff! The advantage of this change is that we can then use super coolant gas (If we want) for cooling things as well, without worry of it changing state. It could also be tossed into thermal regulators for more parity between them and aqua-tuners. (Even though aqua-tuners would be more power efficient since they can process 10x more product for only 5x the cost.) The only issue I could see this causing it the ability for Wheezeworts to use super coolant gas to increase their cooling power several fold. But, if we're considering that super coolant gas is highly toxic, then all that would need to be done is to make wheezeworts stifle in an atmosphere of super coolant gas.
