Bring Your Own Materials!

One of the annoying and biggest drag in this game is waiting for some guy to deliver something.

Repairs never get done or constructions never get worked on.

Priorities end up being worthless.

As a suggestion,  either fix the mechanics so that the guys who are doing the repairs or the errand such as construction needs to be the one that fetches and brings the material.

OR have a hard coded option that allows the players to FORCE a guy to do nothing else BUT carry his own material to do the job he is tasked to do.

Better yet,  any thing that has a task assigned Have a drop down Assign it to a person.   I'd like to know who is 'assigned to doing the errand.
Or make it RTS style with the move option on the dupe.  Have a  Perform Action with a cross hair and you can target the building or whatever.

in every game that have a priority system that i played, the colony start good and when it get bigger I usually end up destroying it, either because I played with priority and now they are completely skipping some errands (repairing and building for example here). or i did not touch the priority and some important things don't get enough attention (Like farming and cooking). I know priorities not broken. if things get neglected either the priority system neglected it since no dupe taking care of that. or work is too much current colony can't keep up. 

and if this system also use priorities from highest to lowest, then from left to right. then building, digging and delivery are by default are the least important thing for a duplicant. I know the game provide many work around and solution to manage those through priorities, proximity and doors. 

I don`t have problem with them not delivering construction materials. Almost all of my dupes have high or very high deliver priority. The materials are always there. More often i`m waiting for the builder than for the resorces.

Repair is a different story. Someone noticed repair materials belong to the storage priority which is weird. I had priority 9 repair tasks that never got done beacause of that.

Anyway you should never use 9 priority for normal tasks. If you do then you have nothing higher left for emergency scenarios. Early game i keep usual dig stuff at 5, food management (farms, food storage) at 6 and outhouse cleaning at 7. If i want something done in a different order i push the priority up by 1. Mostly i don`t have issues as long as there`s not too many tasks at a time.
