When the game crash/disconnect, how come some people are able to reconnect to the same match?

I've been to matches where there were a lot of players disconnection/game crashing and they're able to get back to the same match. 

I've never had any issues with lag before but today, it was my first time getting a lag and it just disconnected me from the match and it wouldn't let me back in, I had to do another quick match  my team was solid and we started on a good start... I'm wondering how come others are able to reconnect to the same match? I didnt see the option to reconnect to the same match, so I dont understand why I wasnt able to get back to the same match.

Two ways I know of:

1. If you have a friend in that server you were previously in: Steam Friends -> Find Your Friend -> Join Game

2. In DST, go to "Browse Servers". If you're lucky, your previous server may appear in the list.
