Will there be a thermoelectric generator?

Recommended Posts

If you are talking about peltier, That's a power hunger, and it breaks down easily.

It can be used for two ways, one is for extreme cooling, and the other is for a small generator using the temperature difference.

Peltier is a special curcuit that can produce temperature difference when powered or generate power when it is given temperature diffence.

Some tried to cool their personal desktop with it, but it turns out, it consumes more energy than the desktop itself. Because peltier cools one side freezing and heats the other side scorching. However, peltier itself is also heat conductor, they need to add additional radiator not to heat CPU, which consumed power significantly. However, the advantage is that you can cool down it to any temperature, not room temperature. You just need to have enough radiator and power...

On the other hand, If only the peltier can withstand extreme heat, yes, it is possible to produce electricity, but it's not that much. The overall efficiency is very limited for peltier it self is the resistor. For example, this outdoor equipment that charges phone from fire. (about 2W...)

Also, if you have peltier, you can make one on your own, but you will need to find a way to cool other side of the peltier, since the temperature difference is key to make power.

So, this is not exactly like the steam turbine in the game.

By the way... steam tubine uses kinetic energy in reallity...
