every experienced ONI player know and probably have this problem too

"Dupes always drop the ore when out of oxygen"

and i think the best possible way to fix this is by adding Backpacks to dupes. But how should this be implemented? well we got jobs, every job has a role, carrying/delivering ores is part of the gofer or tidy job so why not give dupes backpacks if they have completed the gofer or tidy job.

what do you think? do you agree with this?

-update-
i got a more expanded idea as to how this should be implemented, first as mention by @Cypher-7, backpacks should be available on the textile loom and should be usable by everyone, but if a certain dupe has the job supply or already completed it they should have additional perk, similar to exosuits and exosuit engineers

This is not the firs time it's been suggested. But darn, yes.

Hell I wouldn't mind if it could increase their carrying capacities even more (yes beyond the stregth buff they get) while we're at it, automatic transport is unlocked pretty damn late in the tech tree and in the meantime I swear manual tidying take forever even with stong duplicants..

(Or I dunno maybe as amid game thing, a small floating wheelbarrow/chest drone that can follow a single duplicant around and you recharge to aspecial station iilar to the exosuit docks...),

Anyway yes.

I’m not sure exactly what numbers would work for game balance, or if the carrying capacity could stay the same, but perhaps the textile loom (name? The thing that makes clothing) could also make backpacks and once the dupes have training in currier they can equip the backpack and now won’t drop stuff and perhaps have increased carring capacity.
