Debug/Creative Changes

Recommended Posts

I know this is an unlikely add, as it really only would matter for a few of us but I'd like to see the following added to debug mode/instant build.

 - Infinite Power Source
 - Infinite Gas Spawner
 - Infinite Liquid Spawner

 - Void Gas Vent
 - Void Liquid Vent
 - Variable Draw Device

The first three would have the ability to have adjusted output like how you set a Valve, and output a gas (selected perhaps like a filter) or a liquid directly into a piping system. The Power source would simply be a box or a square (maybe even with automation?) in which you can simply hook up a wire, and it provides X power, or just provides 20kw.

The Second three would be used to destroy matter, or put dummy loads on a circuit. Hooking a Gas Line into a Void Gas Vent would eliminate any gas entering it, the Liquid vent the same.

I spend a lot of time in debug testing bugs and other systems. I know there are a bunch of others who do. I used to have a base that had a pretty well set ventilation system using Overpressurized vents and such to store all the CO2 and Polluted Water I was making from some test power systems; but patches have since broken that setup. I find myself each time I'm trying to work in debug, having to instead first build a bootstrapping mechanism

Having some "creative" methods of element creation for testing piping or power etc could really help!

I know it isn't exactly what you want for testing, but there are a few compact liquid and gas destroyers based on mechanized doors destroying material between them.

I do agree on all the other points. If someone has the skill to enable debug, they should have the means to have direct control over vents, volcanos, power systems, and removing all of the above as well. You can accomplish infinite gas/liquid spawning with the paint tool, but more often than not it can be messy and takes some knowledge of the tool to use.
