Ogremk3
First I'd like to say the content that Klei makes as a developer is just outright awesome. From the early beta of Don't Starve to Oxygen Not Included my whole family has been hooked on your products. The art, the quirky characters and the addicting game play has all of us coming back to play more. Thank you.Ranching I know ranching is an option and I love that it is not required but at the same time the skill tree and tech requirements make it seem like you really need to go out of your way to go the ranching route that I don't bother. Maybe some early game inefficient skills or systems might make it more appealing. Diseases I turn off disinfecting most objects, skip the shower, don't every bother with wash basins and only use sinks and toilets. Slimelung is a non-issue and germs don't spread much at all. Need some nasty diseases for late game, maybe animal borne, stuff like catching a cold virus in cold biomes or maybe some sort of malaria like bug swarms in hot areas. Maybe slime bugs or roaches if you don't keep your Duplicants clean. Crops There's no need to go out of your way to grow anything but Bristle Blossoms and have access to cave with wild Pincha Pepper plants. Duplicants don't get bored with an unending diet of Stuffed Berry. More variety at some point please. But perhaps they got what they aimed for with the current diseases. You have to engineering and isolate around it. When they first came out slimelung was scary, people feared going into the slime biome. Now you just go in and dont care as long as you put the slime away Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/89750-ranching-diseases-and-crops/#findComment-1026045 Share on other sites
suicide commando
They've toned down diseases a lot after Outbreak, probably partly due to the fact the game is still in beta, so making it hard to deal with makes testing things difficult. They might tone up the lethality in a later update again. If you want diseases to be scarier, you can always reduce the effectiveness of dupe immune systems in the world creation menu, just like you can make stress more of an issue.
