Vincie
There is a job: "massage", while their no actual occupation for that. Maybe there should be an actual job "spa worker" that would assist dupes with their massages...? The other thing is that life of a dupe is... Boring. I guess that some would like ti go to a gym (so a proper gym equipment machinery, developing athletics, could be added), some would like a bubble bath and some would hook them up to a virtual reality or something. One more cooking option is needed too - candy. Could we have sugar canes in swamp biomes and cocoa beans... Somewhere else? Maybe some frosty kind of them. This could be actually made in microbe musher and be an expensive to produce top quality food item. We need fish too. While there is a fishy art ingame (the one on the menu screen), we can not get them and I can not treat my dupes with fishticks. And... Music. Dupes should like it. We could have a musican dupe, playing some sort of moog or a magnetic guitar (since electric ones are a song of yesterday) and transmit it through the base via radio and speakers. Dupes could enjoy it. Or not, depending on their personalities. Talkin of radios and transmitation, a control center would be a cool job for a scientist dupe after researching everything and all the holes in the ground. A supercomputer could be used to operate radioswitches (so a scientist dupe would come and switch them). crypticorb
I like all these ideas. A large part of the attraction of O.N.I. is the asthetics and cute animations, and these all give some nice flavor items to keep things interesting. The "massage job" is just a relic from previous versions, though, and I believe it is non-functional. There are a few other "jobs" like it, such as "hydrofan" operation and "power", which got rolled into other, more generic jobs assignments. Kasuha
With massages being early game stress relief devices for the most part, the "spa worker" should be optional, enough on the fact that the table uses power (and eventually a dupe running a wheel). And I think it should be tied to the current "care/aid" task duplicants are giving to sick duplicants on med beds (though a massage usually takes way shorter than a sickness). With my play style I'd like duplicants to have some idle activity and taking/giving massages "for fun" would not be bad. At least they'd start concentrating at well defined areas rather than at random places such as at dangerous machinery or near airocks.
