MoTayW001
Hello fellow gamers and creators! So just today I was watching my mom play ONI, and we were discussing the effects of different responses to a dupes stress level. I jokingly made one up, but now that I think it over I figured maybe I could suggest it here. It essentially is that when a dupes stress level is high enough they have to isolate themselves in a room for a bit before they calm down again. This would add a mechanic where the player would be required to make an extra room for this if they ended up with a duplicant that has this stress response. If they don't have a room where their dupe can relieve their stress, then the dupe would simply curl up in the room they're in, rocking themselves back and forth and raising the stress levels of the other duplicants in the room. Here are a couple names for it that I've come up with; Me Time, Timeout, Isolation, and Solitary. Feel free to even make your own! Hope I could help add some new mechanics~ Forever gaming, MoTay
Ceribus
hmmm I was thinking of something similar but as trait. You could have dupes with the trait antisocial - when no one is around they have -10% stress but for every other dup in sight increase their stress by 5%. So when they are alone their stress goes down, if there are 2 dupes around it's a wash and for every other dupe after that they are getting stressed this way if they are sleeping in a barracks with 8 other dupes they would have a very stressful night You could also have a social butterfly trait which is the opposite, when alone they get +10% stress but it goes down by 5% for each dupe in range
ImpalerWrG
This would need a new animation for the 'ready to break' state maybe they look afraid or duck down a bit? I would imagine they can just go to a bed and hide under the covers and shake for a long time (so your loosing a lot of potential work output but you don't need to clean up a mess), during the day that should be fairly private and I don't see how the player can be required to make a private room specifically for them, that would just invite folks to try to engineer a way to block the effect. In fact your should want to let them get to the bed because they will otherwise wipe out a blanket and hide right on the spot for LONGER if they don't have access to a bed. vovik
How do you even get stress responses? Day 64, only researched pots for whezeworts, no decor used, no stress response.... ugh... how?
realdead_man
NOT that I want the game any harder............. Might as well add "locked himself in the lavatory, smoking drugs" That blocks a bathroom and adds stress too,....To EVERYone but the dupe in question, lol With a chance to burn: himself, the bathroom and the base DOWN
