ParanoikCZE
I didn't find how it should behave. Let say, there are two sources of CO2, for example gas generator and polymer press. Gas generator creates CO2 at 40°C, press at 30°C (well, actually both temps are greater, but they cool down on their way). Both of ends up in single pipe, but they mix only sometimes. Tried and seems like treshold is somewhere near that 10°K difference (as gases will mix flawlessly when difference is like 5°K) Can someone confirm this? Kasuha
Pipes should not make a difference based on gas temperature and I have never seen that they would. The resulting temperature should also follow thermodynamic rules (there were bugs about it but these should be fixed now). Are you mixing them using a bridge or using a joint? Can you post your setup/save? ParanoikCZE
pipetest.sav Added save, but following was performed with some testing. Examples .. left part has two bunches of CO2 at app. 250g (output of 4 gas generators), middle is 290g CO2 pumped from environment. Right part .. capsule from generator stopped and got another one from valve so now 500g. Capsule from below continues. So, when there is continuous supply, it pulses inputs as seen on following pic. When I remove valves, it works partialy ok. One pipe is connected to filter output it throw gas back into it. When it reaches one pipe to right, it returns back to crossing and repeat And finally, there is something wrong with output of buildings, e.g. I have 4 gas generators in row with exhaust made this way. With constant gas supply it should exhale 330g CO2 per second, but pipe flashes with 330 and 330/4, so only most right generator is working all the time, rest works 50% of time. I need to change it to something like on following screen and it will start working properly. Btw same weird thing is happening to my gas intakes .. As you can see on right below, gas pipe is blocked to the left, so 100% of gas should go above, but it stops, do nothing and next tick send whole capsule above. Kabrute
replace each T with a bridge and bypass and fix your CO2 filter Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87584-mixing-gases-with-different-temperatures/#findComment-1004288 Share on other sites
ParanoikCZE
Kabrute: again, this is not how I expect game will work. This is not intuitive nor funny. It's buggy. Kabrute
your co2 filter is cross piped thats whats causing the red circled problem Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87584-mixing-gases-with-different-temperatures/#findComment-1004460 Share on other sites
ParanoikCZE
oh, nice catch .. this would be nice if game would handle Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/87584-mixing-gases-with-different-temperatures/#findComment-1005160 Share on other sites
