I am owner of DS and DST on PC and I'm now considering to buy DST for my PS4 to play couch-coop with my gf who is not that into PC playing. Due to the many available DS packs I am a little bit confused what to buy. I will need DST to play couch coop of course. Is it possible to expand DST by buying the ROG and Shipwrecked expansions or are these addons for the standard DS only? Thx in advance for your help! YumoS Posted January 3, 2018 Share Posted January 3, 2018 rog and shipwrecked expansions are for standard ds only. dst has rog build in. so you need to buy just dst. but i dont know if you can couch coop dst on ps4. If you have more than 1 pc your girlfriend could just use a ps4 controller on pc. this way you get all the advantages from pc version and can play with a controller. If you want to play alone, then buy those expansions. BurningFox Posted January 5, 2018 Share Posted January 5, 2018 You can also do couch co-op with friend online (you and gf on one ps4, friends on another), however I believe both people need Ps Plus to play online. As people have said, if your goal is just to play with your GF, then there is no benefit to buying the bundle. DST has RoG automatically, and all unlockable characters from vanilla and RoG Dont Starve (and DST exclusive character). Just remember that console is a little behind on updates, you can't buy or sell costumes in a steam store, and you can't use mods. Overall, PC is better in terms of pros/cons and probably has more support and I'd recommend just buying another copy for that and plugging in a controller, but if she doesn't own her own PC then by all means get PS4s version. If I play by myself I use the PC version instead. The weaker ps4 support is bearable for me as we are merely casual players.
