Modding Functionality: Ground elevation/Falloff/Waves customisation + Subsymbol/Hand swapping

I saw the Forge trailer & thought maybe it'd be cool if we were able to make higher elevated ground in our setpieces, such as making the Forge trailer more akin to the real thing by putting it in a pit at sea level, with high ground around it.

 

Another thing would be the ability to change the falloff or waves of tiles using new tiles, perhaps on different layers? BG_FALLOFF or BG_WAVES or BG_WALLS for things like Cave walls.

 

And last of all, subsymbol and/or swapping, such as swapping hand-10 with the matching symbol in swap_thing - Allowing us to make all kinds of new items + even better still would be the ability to swap left hands' items or right hands' items, so we could dual wield certain things or hold a spear & shield, things like that. However, this means the sprite-flipping nature of DS would probably have to be reworked with workarounds or removed entirely, which may not be quite worth it.
