hanrai
At present, we can only turn on and off to a job for one particular duplicant. It means that if he or she finished the job, the duplicant could do will be set to idle state. So how about to add job priority function to personal job schedule window? With priority, duplicant will try to finish the job with the highest priority first. Then duplicant will try to finished jobs with lower priority. Just set priority to jobs with hotkey 'P' is not enough for job schedule. Mythrelia
I actually thought of this too a while back but wouldn't it take a lot of more programming and therefore potentially drop fps? It's already a micromanaging game that requires a lot of cpu I think that could make it too much. vovik
I came here to make some suggestions, with this being among them. And here it is. Neebert
I thought the same thing, I mean tasks get the 1 - 9 priority. I like the ticks but the box is big enough for a number Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/85434-how-about-to-arrange-personal-job-by-priority/#findComment-993052 Share on other sites
Lady Wolflyn
This would be super helpful and worked nicely in Rimworld, in ONI being able to set my chef to make cooking an absolute priority, followed by say harvesting and then digging would be a huge improvement over getting needed tasks done and my secondary Chef focus on their primary job but still fill in for cooking if the main chef is busy with a massage or whatever without having to continually fiddle with toggling the jobs on/off as the situation changes through the cycles. {It'd also be great to be able to tell the easily stressed dupes to make the massage table a higher priority then other tasks and stop my best digger from running off to do the higher priority sweeping jobs I need my runners to focus on.} In play, how it would probably work best is if they made the job tab priorities take precedence over the world task priority, so when you set a digging job to priority 9, if your runner has sweeping at priority 8 and digging at 2 they'll kindly ignore the digging priority to keep focusing on their primary job. {Of course, just like in rimworld, having a toggle box to change it from numbers back to the more simplistic check boxes would be handy for those who don't wish to bother with the additional complexity this would add.} Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/85434-how-about-to-arrange-personal-job-by-priority/#findComment-993297 Share on other sites
Zarquan
I feel with the job selection screen and skill leveling that they want us to specialize dupes, but I would rather have unspecialized dupes that are willing to do all jobs than specialized dupes that are idle when their job isn't available.... I would really like personal priorities.
